The Gidel FantoVision 40™ edge computer is an innovative compact edge computer, designed for image acquisition and processing, that supports up to four CoaXPress cameras or four 10GigE cameras with up to 40 Gb/s bandwidth. High-end image acquisition with real-time processing and/or compression is achieved through a Nvidia Jetson™ embedded computer, with optional pre-processing/compression capabilities on an Intel Arria 10™ FPGA.

Leveraging Nvidia's extensive libraries, the Nvidia Jetson provides up to 100 TOPS of AI compute power. The GPU and FPGA are seamlessly interconnected by a 4-lane PCIe Gen 3 interface. With over 2 Terabytes of SSD storage, the FantoVision 40 is well-suited for demanding real-time processing, compression, and recording tasks. Additionally, the FPGA is enhanced with up to 10 GB DDR4@200 Gb/s.

FantoVision edge computers stand out due to their open architecture, which facilitate embedded AI and image processing on both GPU and FPGA. Software engineers have the flexibility to program algorithms on the GPU using CUDA C/C++ and NVIDIA’s AI libraries. In addition, Gidel’s innovative ProcVision™ Suite simplifies and accelerates the development and deployment of optional pre-processing blocks on the FPGA.
