Gidel Proc10A-40GigE FPGA-based Frame Grabber

The Gidel Proc10A-40GigE FPGA-based frame grabber offers ultra-high bandwidth, integrating four 10 GigE links with speeds up to 40 Gb/s. It features a PCIe Gen. 3 x 8 host interface and immense image buffers (up to 32 GB) with real-time compression, and the capability to offload Regions Of Interest (ROI) for enhanced bandwidth utilization. The Proc10A-40GigE supports four Gidel Lossless and JPEG encoders, each processing over 500 MPixels/s, effectively doubling pixel frequency.

The Proc10A-40GigE, based on Intel Arria 10 FPGAs, features immense processing power and plentiful memory to satisfy the highest performance and bandwidth requirements demanded by real-time image processing.

The customizable frame grabber board offers multi-level modularity with embedded modules for specific application requirements, and includes critical functions like HDR, dynamic white balance, various compression options (JPEG, lossless, Quality+), plus other ISP options. In addition, the Gidel ProcVision suite provides advanced FPGA development capabilities, including the creation of customized acquisition paths and image processing solutions.

Gidel FPGA frame grabbers offer real-time, high-bandwidth vision and image processing. Their frame grabbers range from economical off-the-shelf frame grabbers to high-performance, multi-camera custom solutions with 10GigE or CoaXPress interfaces. Development is streamlined with the ProcFG and InfiniVision SDK, which includes GUIs, APIs, and libraries with support for complex multi-camera setups, advanced image processing, and compression.

Options

Grabber architecture type The Gidel Frame Grabber boards can operate in one of two unique Frame Grabber architectures, ProcFG or InfiniVision, by reprogramming the firmware.
Grabber option #1: InfiniVision
  1. Enables using many synchronized cameras and/or to grab compressed images/videos
  2. All the cameras' data, including from multiple boards, is organized in a single buffer
  3. Each camera can have different resolution, and pixel format, and may be changed on the fly
  4. The Frame Grabber can have one or more instances of InfiniVision, and all cameras of the same InfiniVision instance must be synchronized
Grabber option #2: ProcFG
  • Each camera has a dedicated ProcFG instance
  • Frame size and pixel format must be fixed
  • Optimized for line scan cameras
  • Option for grabbing ROIs
  • ProcFG may not be used for compressed data
Camera interface connectorSFP+ | RJ45
FPGA Option Optional on-FPGA processing using Gidel's libraries (IPs), Gidel's tailored library functions (IPs), or user customized IPs
