is shown to the right<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: 'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;\">Defective pixels, in turn can result in incorrect processing of an image!<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;\">In most all cases, cameras are corrected at the factory prior to shipment and found in the &#8220;defect map&#8221; that is stored in the camera. \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: 'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;\">Under challenging conditions or high temperature environments, additional defective pixels may appear. \u00a0These can be corrected using a custom defect map.\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: 'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;\">Defect pixel correction suppresses pixels or clusters and reconstructs the expected value by interpolating the neighboring pixels. \u00a0Standard algorithms use the pixel to the left or to the right of the defect pixel for the interpolation, however more advanced algorithms can be used. \u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: 'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;\">Image Sensors from ON-SEMI are graded per the number of defects within the sensor. \u00a0This encompasses bright and dark pixel defects along with cluster defects. \u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: 'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;\">Below is an example from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.1stvision.com\/cameras\/sensor_specs\/KAI-29050LongSpec.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>ON-Semiconductor 29MP\u00a0KAI-29050<\/b><\/a> sensor defect description. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both;
