Opto Engineering PCPB Boroscopic Probes
for complete inner cavity inspection

Opto Engineering PCBP boroscopic probes Opto Engineering boroscopic probes are designed to completely inspect the interior of objects. The boroscopic probe can be inserted into small objects with diameters as small 5.5 mm with very deep cavities. The optical design of the PCBP boroscopic probe is a higher resolution probe compared to fiber-based probes due to the catadioptric (refracting and reflecting) optical design. Built-in direct and indirect illumination reveals miniscule defects that otherwise could not be detected. PCBPxxx-AF models are integrated with Optotune liquid lenses for immediate focusing at varying working distances.

PCBP boroscopic probes are compact boroscopic probes that are designed for machine vision to work with robotic arms such as SCARA (Selective Compliance Articulated Robot Arm) robots. They are commonly used for pick-and-place and assembly tasks that require high speed and high accuracy.

  • Clearly inspect inner features and defects of a cavity
  • High resolution due to the catadioptric optical design
  • Built-in direct and indirect illumination
  • Small diameter inspection – as small as 5.5 mm
  • Some lenses available with integrated Optotune liquid lenses

Opto Engineering 360° lenses are high quality lenses with superb optical performance. They are specifically designed for 360° imaging and inspection applications. There are many 360° lenses and options. Our Sales Engineers can provide expert advice and guidance on selecting the right lens for your machine vision 360° imaging application. Notes

  1. Working f-number (wf/N): the real f-number of a lens in operating conditions.
  2. Tolerance ± 2%
  3. Used in continuous (non-pulsed) mode.
  4. Constant voltage power supply
  5. Constant current power supply
  6. Measured from the front end of the mechanics to the camera flange.

Additional Notes

  • Recommended use of a 1/2" sensor as the image may be decentered

Image cavities from 5 mm to 100 mm or greater can be inspected with the PCBP probes. The table below shows the ranges allowed and the recommended PCBP part number.
